ART DECO
In the 1920s and 1930s – Art Deco was an absolute style.

Art Deco style began with the famous 1925 Paris World Exhibition and later dominated virtually all aspects of life. It is true that at that time no one used the term “Art Deco”, such a concept of style actually appeared  40 years later.

No area of life avoided the influence of that style. Architecture, interior design, painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, furniture, lamps, cars, yachts, jewellery, fashion …

The second revival of Art Deco took place relatively late. The first major English publication appeared in 1968. It was entitled “Art Deco of the 20s and 30s” and was written by Bevis Hillier. From that moment on the art from the turn of the 20s and 30s has been in fashion.

If a wise man had invest in Art Deco in the 1950s, he would be Donald Trump today. Of course, we refer to his wallet, not to taste.

In the 21st century the prices of items from the 1920s and 1930s make people’s hearts beat faster. Dressing tables, chairs, chandeliers, cutlery, necklaces are sold by the most valuable auction houses. They find their admirers in London, Dubai, Shanghai, Manhattan …

They can be found in museums around the world. From Tokyo through Chicago, Otwock to Napier in New Zealand which is one big museum itself.

When designing furniture, lamps, details, we realize that it is impossible to create a good project without referring to the past. The inspiration can include both the 16th century Renaissance and modernism of the interwar period. For us, Art Deco is the greatest source of the inspiration.

The style of the 1920s was mainly addressed to consumers of luxury goods. The design of the 1930s is an offer directed to the mass recipient.

The first one is characterized by refined details, colors, extravagance and etnic influences. In turn, the 1930s makes an impression due to its functionality and restrained elegance.

WE KNOW THAT OTHERS UNDERSTAND OUR PASSION. WE ARE TRYING TO SHARE THIS PASSION WHICH RESULTED IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ATELIER 1925
